You may have guessed from the title, we are in china. We stayed in Shanghai for 4 days and now in Suzhou.

Internet access to blogger seems to be blocked so will update pictures in Hong Kong.

Nijo Castle, Ginkaku-ji Temple and maybe a Geisha!

Our last days in Kyoto were busy, we went to Nijo Castle which has nightingale floorboards (they squeak like nightingales!) to alert the Shogun and Samurai of enemies. Couldnt take any photos inside but the outside gates are cool too....

Also went to Ginkaku-Ji temple, the Silver Pavillion. Although they didnt ever actually give it a silver finish unlike the Golden Pavillion!Finally we saw what we think is a Geiko or Meiko (Geisha or trainee Geisha) in Kiomizu Temple,

Opinion is still out on whether she was real - but she was impressive anyway!!!

Kyoto-Templed out....nearly!

Yesterday we took a trip to the Golden Pavillion, Kinkaku-ji. Despite the weather it was pretty impressive!



Went to the Fushimi Inari Shrine today, there are about 10,000 of these gates winding up and around Mt. Inari!


After that, on to the Great Buddha of Nara!

Breakfast like a king!

Yesterday, at the crack of dawn, we went to Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, famous for its Tuna auction. We missed the auction, but as you can see we breakfasted like Kings and Queens!

Soon be off!!

Well, we are at the airport and looking forward to having only 2 bags to worry about for the next 6 months! Next stop Tokyo!
